Dining Chairs

Dining Chairs

There are a plethora of modern dining chairs that you can choose from. Here are some tips that will help you select the best dining chairs for your home.

Design

Solid wooden chairs designed in classic shapes lend a vintage feel to rustic-style dining rooms. These chairs may have open backs and curved designs. On the other hand, a modern dining space is characterized by simple shapes and clean lines. For instance, some modern-style dining chairs have thick padding and feature leather, synthetic or genuine leather coverings. They work extremely well with glass or wood tables.

Fusing Styles

Modern day designing calls for some bold innovation and experimentation, especially when it comes to your furniture. A lot of homeowners are opting for an ‘intentional mismatch’ between their dining table and dining chairs. For instance, you could consider placing contemporary chairs around a traditional dining table or vice-versa. However, try and find pieces which have at least some similarity in their design.

Gone are the days when you had to match your chairs with the table. Today, it is rather fashionable to mix and match furniture in different parts of your home. The living/dining room is an area where you probably entertain your guests. You can make a trendy statement in this area by doing something out of the ordinary. For instance, consider pairing plastic chairs with a dark wooden table or an antique table with contemporary dining chairs. You could also go a step ahead and add a stylish bench to the chair mix around your dining table.

Seat height and comfort

Being aware of the height when picking dining chairs will ensure optimum usage comfort. Also make note that not all armchairs will fit under all dining tables. Most end-users prefer to have their armchairs fully tucked under their dining tables to save space and/or for easier cleaning around the dining room. As for standard dining chairs without arms and dining tables, these are typically all around the same seat heights or table heights. For optimal comfort, we recommend trying out our chairs with tables at our showroom to ensure you get the best possible fit.

Upholstery

A dining chair is most susceptible to spillage and staining. After all, this is where you sit and eat your food. If you wish to avoid unnecessary stress related to damage, opt for easy-maintenance upholstery such as leather or our cotton blends in darker tones. Synthetic Leathers and Genuine Leathers can be easily cleaned with proper cleaning supplies. While lighter fabrics are more susceptible to visible staining, these chairs are perfect for modern or contemporary homes that are seeking to compliment modern bright white spaces. Our dining chairs can be custom upholstered in a wide variety of colors so visit our showrooms to take our chairs for a test drive.
