Guess what tomorrow is? Buddha's Birthday! In East Asia with the exception of Japan, Buddha's Birth is celebrated on the 8th day of he 4th month in the Chinese Lunar Calendar. This year that brings us to tomorrow, Saturday, May 14th. Each country has their own special way of celebrating Buddha's Birthday. Here in Hong Kong, Buddha's Birthday is a Public Holiday where traditionally, lanterns are lit to symbolize Buddha's enlightenment. Many people visit the temple to pay their respects.
