Having guests over? We love and we hate having visitors over in Hong Kong. If you’re like most people in Hong Kong you have a flat that is less than 700 sq ft, 1/8th the size of your flat you originally moved from and are a tiny bit embarrassed that your flat is too small. Unfortunately there is no place in Hong Kong to buy an air mattress and your guest is coming this weekend. You’re desperate to find some kind of sleeping arrangement for your visitor. You either give up your own bed, you make them squeeze into your two-seater sofa, or you upgrade your two-seater sofa for a sofabed. We get a lot of last minute requests for sofabeds, which is why we have dedicated this post to visitors in Hong Kong and why sofa beds are so critical for people in Hong Kong that have guests over frequently. The first decision people come across when choosing a sofa is whether to get a standard sofa or a sofabed. We really only recommend getting a sofa bed if you have visitors over frequently, otherwise you should really think about getting a standard single function sofa that you are going to use in its ordinary “sofa state”. While most people in Hong Kong feel like they only have enough space for a two seater sofa, actually considering a three seater sofa is not really a terrible idea. Most criticism is that a three seater sofa might make your space feel smaller. Yes that is true, but if you watch tv a lot or the main part of coming back home is to enjoy your living room and spending time with your family than actually considering a three seat sofa might not be a bad idea at all. Especially since you’ll be sitting in it most of the time. In addition, three seat sofas can function as a single person bed in the rare or occasional chance you have a guest that must sleep over at our place. However, most people in the end decide on choosing a two seat sofa, because in the end, thats just Hong Kong. We are limited by space and a lot of people just get scared off by the idea of a giant three seat sofa occupying half of their entire flat. So that comes down to what most Hong Konger’s hare deciding between - a two seat sofa and a sofa bed. To be honest, there aren’t that many sofa bed options available and we do have the best sofa bed options already. Usually sofa beds can be hard to transform from sofa to bed functions, but our sofa beds are pretty functional - they are super easy to transform and they are also available in a wide range of colors. All our sofa bed covers are also removable so just in case your guest accidentally throws up on your sofa bed then you can easily take off the cover, wash it, throw it away or get a new sofa bed cover - tada - super easy. Our most popular sofa beds are the Karlsen Modern Sofabed and the Marvin Sofabed. Why are these so popular? Well because these sofa beds can be customized in almost any color imaginable, they are super easy to transform, and they are the cheapest sofa beds available in Hong Kong. So I guess those are pretty good reasons.
